Marriott: Mobile Apps
This is Marriott International’s first offering of mobile products.
I helped shape the vision and strategy for the mobile program at Marriott long before the build and launch of the “phase 1” products.
When it came time to actually make the products, I played the role of lead (sole) interaction designer and captured use cases (software), conceptualized scenarios of use (human experience), produced the information architecture, and defined visual elements, such as iconography.
This “phase 1” product offering was envisioned as a program as opposed to an isolated product within the organization and launched as a mobile website, and on the iOS (iPhone, iPod), Android, and BlackBerry platforms.
Soon after launching on the iOS iTunes store, the app reached #4 most downloaded free app and #1 most downloaded free travel category app.
